Veggie Baby Shoes: cute soft sole shoes for vegan babies, with embroidery!
Soft soled baby shoes are recommended by doctors for allowing baby's delicate feet to develop normally.  With love and respect for our animal friends, Veggie Baby Shoes are made with high quality Japanese synthetic-leather (vegan), and they are sewn and embroidered in Pakistan by a skilled team of embroiderers.  5% of proceeds are donated to wildlife organizations.
* soft soles allow baby's feet to flex and bend naturally during critical development.
* machine-washable: synthetic leather stays soft and supple even after machine-washing.
* 100% vegan: Thank you so much for your purchase of non-leather shoes.
Veggies Baby Shoes are $19.95 per pair.

Leather Shoes: are they really "natural"?

Most soft-soled baby shoes contain leather, usually made from the skins of cows, sheep, pigs and goats. Leather requires processing to make it supple and durable. Leather tanning has historically been a foul-smelling, polluting industry, and it continues to be so today. Tanneries today use many toxic substances, including mineral salts (chromium, aluminum, iron, and zirconium), formaldehyde, coal-tar derivatives, and various oils and dyes. More than 95 percent of leather produced in the U.S. is chrome-tanned, as is most of the world's leather. All wastes containing chromium are considered hazardous by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
