Organic Merino Wool Diaper Cover
with Aplix Closure
My favorite thing about this cover is that I can
use it with an unpinned prefold. Please note you may need an extra
doubler inside also for heavier wetters, or a wool doubler between the
diaper and cover (you can see the wool doubler on the diapering
accessories page), because prefolds are thin compared to fitted diapers.
Becky is wearing an infant size prefold inside the cover in the photos
on this page (she has on a size 2 cover). The prefold/wrap combination
is one of the cheapest ways to use cloth diapers, due to the expense of
fitted diapers. Plastic covers are often used as the "wrap" over
prefolds, but with this wonderful cover you finally have an all natural
organic alternative for this method of cloth diapering. I would recommend
a few covers to rotate throughout the day/night and extras are always nice
while waiting for a cover to dry after washing. If any messes get
on the cover just rinse off the cover with cold water as soon as you can,
and then wash the cover with a lanolin-containing soap/shampoo. If
the cover is just damp though from use, you can just hang it over a chair
to dry while rotating with another wool cover. Wool only needs to
be washed once every couple of weeks unless it is soiled.
Another thing I love about this cover is how
trim it is. You can see in the photos that it would easily fit under
pants, with even less bulk than a disposable diaper in my opinion. |
