| Chinese Squeaky Shoes
We first bought some squeaky shoes in China during our trip to adopt Becky in 2003, and we thought they were the cutest thing ever. The shoes have soft soles and also have a squeaker in each sole (like a dog-toy squeaker) so with each step the baby takes, the shoes squeak! It's fun watching people at the park as they try to figure out where the squeaking is coming from, and then they finally discover "it's her shoes!" The first time we saw a baby wearing them in China we just stopped and watched the baby walking down the street for a few minutes, talking about how cute it was. Once we had some for Becky too, we realized they're also very useful for keeping track of the baby while out shopping or at the park. Some customers have asked if the soles are really soft. Yes they're very soft! We only saw babies wearing soft-soled shoes in China, so they really know how to take care of baby feet! Also, you can remove the squeaker from the shoe (pry out the end portion with a knife) in case you decide you'd rather not have them squeak for certain occasions. Then you can put the squeaker back in when you want more squeaking feet! (usually babies protest when the squeaker sound is suddenly gone because they love making the squeaky sound)
